We offer a professional, reliable and trustworthy dog walking service and we pride ourselves on understanding your dog and its needs.

I have completed a 2 year dog training course with the APDT which has given me skills to be able to help with areas such as loose lead walking, enrichment and walking dogs who may exhibit fear or anxious natures. I have been an assistant dog trainer since August 2017 and I will be undertaking my T Touch practitioner training in 2020. I also attend various dog training courses and workshops to learn new skills and update my knowledge. I am also trained in pet first aid.

Dog Walking Service

Most dogs enjoy at least one but preferably two walks a day depending on their breed, age and exercise needs. Due to work and other commitments it may be beneficial to have a dog walker come into your home to either walk your dog or if preferred provide a visit instead. Not all dogs may need a walk due to their age and health so visits can be a great alternative where we can play enrichment games such as scentwork, puzzle toys or free work. The services of a professional dog walker can be a great benefit for your dogs mental and physical well being, but also for your own peace of mind that they are getting attention, play and exercise.

We do not offer groups walks at this time, however up to 3 dogs can be exercised from the same household at any one time. We offer both on-lead and off-lead walks but this is dependent on your dog reliably being recalled from distractions. A 'reliable recall' form will need to be signed prior to any off-lead walking commencing. A long line can be used if necessary.

All dog walks will normally start on foot from the owner's house, however dogs can also be taken in my vehicle if required. Walks will typically be one of the routes that you normally walk your dog or dogs. This ensures familiarity to the dogs, especially if they are being walked off-lead. Some dogs may prefer just a leisurely mooch whereby they can sniff and scent the area and check out their environment whilst others may prefer a game of fetch or 'find the treats' and these can all be catered for depending on what you do with your dogs during your free time.

All dogs must wear a suitable collar or harness. If travelling in a vehicle, dogs must be able to travel in a crate or wear a harness that will attach to a harness clip. We do not walk dogs who wear choke chains, electronic or prong collars. A flexi-lead can be provided if necessary.

Puppy & Dog Visits

Visits can be provided for both puppies and dogs depending on your individual needs. Sometimes an owner who has an adult dog may not wish them to be walked by someone else but would like their dog to have a regular toilet break in the garden with some games such as fetch, tug or find the toys/food. Other dogs may just want to have some of their own time and enjoy a stuffed frozen kong or mooch in the garden. Likewise puppies need company, regular toileting breaks and food until they are old enough to have their immunisations and have short walks.

Dogs who show signs of being anxious/reactive to the environment, other dogs, people or other small animals may require further involvement from a fully qualified trainer or behaviourist prior to being offered a regular walk with A&S.
